Elaine Hanby

Advanced Master’s Level Intern

Elaine (She/Her) is an advanced master’s level intern, currently pursuing a counseling degree at William and Mary.

Elaine uses a person-centered approach to support clients and facilitate their growth and learning within the therapeutic space. Building a therapeutic environment that is warm and comforting is important as Elaine prioritizes having a space where clients are encouraged and feel safe to be vulnerable and open. Elaine knows that coming to therapy can be difficult and respects the courage it takes to book the first appointment. Through your work together, you will find a space to experience and process your emotions and experiences as we work together towards your goals.

Elaine uses a combination of therapeutic approaches to help reach your goals including narrative approaches and cognitive behavioral approaches. Elaine is honored to walk alongside her clients on their journey of self-discovery and self-learning.

Elaine is open to working with a wide variety of clients, most particularly young adults and adults.  Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, spirituality, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

In her free time, Elaine enjoys knitting, walking around the city, and leading Zumba classes.
