Luke Solacoff
Hi, I'm Luke.
Starting therapy takes nerve, and I don't take it lightly when someone decides to try. My goal is to make the room feel like a warm, safe place where you can be honest about the things you’ve been carrying alone.
I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and life transitions that may look fine from the outside but feel like a lot from the inside.
My training is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), meaning we can get practical, naming the patterns that keep you stuck and building strategies you can use between sessions. However, I don't believe in one approach for every person, so I draw from a range of methods, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills and psychodynamic thinking, because I want to know where the patterns come from, not just how to interrupt them.
I spent years in theater and the arts before this, which left me with the conviction that we all play roles, some of them long past their usefulness. I'm drawn to clients curious about their own material — anyone willing to look at their life as something still being written.
As an advanced graduate student intern finishing my MSS at Bryn Mawr's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, I'm continuing to train across approaches, and I'll adapt what I bring to what you actually need rather than the other way around.
If any of that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd welcome the chance to meet.
