Mary Alysse is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s University and her Master’s in Counseling from Rosemont College. She believes that focusing on each individual’s unique experiences, needs, strengths and challenges with an open and warm regard is the best foundation for making progress in therapy.
Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming. It is Mary Alysse’s goal to help you feel as comfortable and secure as possible in the process. She feels it is a privilege to know someone’s story and respects the vulnerability required to show up in the space of therapy.
Mary Alysse may be a good fit if:
You are experiencing feelings of anxiety, stress or overwhelm
You are going through a transitional time of life
You are dealing with relationship difficulties with your parents or child, friendships, romantic relationships, etc.
You are dealing with a heavy mental load
You are at any stage of family planning – including infertility, loss, pregnancy and postpartum
You are a caregiver that is feeling burnt out
You are grieving a loss
She believes that it is helpful to explore our past experiences to gain a deeper understanding as to why we do and think the way that we do. However, she also believes in offering real, tangible, action steps on how to manage our emotions and behaviors in order to make sustainable changes. She uses a client centered approach, pulling from several different modalities to support each individual’s needs. Her goal is to offer a warm, safe, space to have collaborative conversations, often owning her own human experience. She believes it is important to name and identify ways societal systems play a role in our individual experiences, while aiding you to feel confident in taking control of things within reach.
