Meg Costa, MA

Meg (she/her) is a master’s level therapist pursuing licensure as a professional counselor in Pennsylvania. She received her counseling degree, with a concentration in trauma, from Arcadia University.

Meg uses a humanistic, feminist, and trauma-informed approach to support clients in the therapy space. She is honored to help individuals tell their stories from a collaborative, strengths-based perspective. Meg aims to always meet clients where they are so they can authentically process their emotions and experiences in a supportive space.

Meg is currently participating in narrative therapy training provided by the Dulwich Centre. She holds two certificates in an introductory course and a trauma-focused course. Meg’s undergraduate degree is in journalism, which led to an interest in narrative therapy. She enjoys incorporating journaling, poetry, art, and other forms of writing into her work with clients. If you are someone who likes to discuss how stories from art and media resonate with you emotionally, Meg would be a great fit for you. As part of her narrative practice, Meg also strives to acknowledge how culture, societal norms, and systemic oppression impact our daily lives.

Meg has prior experience working as a mental health aid with older folks experiencing mental health concerns. She has also worked in a psychiatric hospital as a mental health technician on a young adult unit and an LGBTQIA+ unit. As a member of the queer community, Meg feels passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. Her clinical interests include trauma, depression, grief, existential concerns, spirituality, anxiety and OCD, and mood disorders. Meg is also a member of Greater Philadelphia Area Counseling Association, a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association.

Outside of the therapy space, Meg enjoys biking around Philadelphia, engaging in advocacy work for causes close to her heart, and attending live music events. Meg is also a therapy client and believes all therapists need a therapist of their own. Outside of these passions, Meg enjoys staying in to read or watch movies with her partner and her cat, June.
